今日は東京外国語大学の茶道部の学生さんが体験会を企画してくれました。

茶道部のお兄さんが袴でお迎えに来てくれました。

Today, students from the tea ceremony club of Tokyo University of Foreign Studies organized a hands-on tea ceremony experience.

One of the tea ceremony club members came to welcome us in wearing a hakama.

今回は東京外国語大学の和室を借りて行いました。

子どもたちは和室の雰囲気に興味津々な様子でした。

We rented a Japanese-style room on campus.

The children seemed very interested in the atmosphere of the Japanese-style room .

まずは和菓子をいただきました。普段食べるおやつとはまた違う味に子どもたちはゆっくり味わっていました。

First, we enjoyed Japanese sweets. The children slowly savored the taste, which was different from the snacks they usually eat.

そして、お抹茶をいただきました。少し苦い味でしたが、みんな一口は飲みました。感想は様々で、苦そうな顔する子どももいればおいしそうに飲む子どももいました。

Then we were served matcha (powdered green tea). It tasted a little bitter, but everyone took a sip. Some children had “bitter-tea-face”, while others enjoyed dranking it down.

「またやろうね！」と約束をして楽しい茶道体験を終えました。

We ended the enjoyable tea ceremony with a promise: “Let’s do this again!”
